Cyber Security training goes Friendly

Cyber security training company - Bob's Business partners with national initiative Friendly WiFi scheme to protect against cybercrime.

Bob's Business Ltd, an information security eLearning company, have recently joined forces with Friendly WiFi, a Government initiated scheme supporting protecting children and young people whilst online using public WiFi. The companies have partnered following their joint vision to provide a safe online environment and commitment to reducing cyber crime. This for many clients will meet the duty of care that many clients have on the surrounding area, by fully protecting them on the wifi services.

Friendly WiFi have chosen to partner with Bob's Business Ltd. because of their innovative approach to training and changing behaviours. Working in partnership will enable both businesses to support their clients with innovative solutions focussed at online safety and data protection.

The Friendly WiFi Scheme has been created and launched in collaboration with RDI (UK) Holdings ltd. and The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS). The initiative is supported by Government and the UK's leading WiFi providers after concerns were raised by leading child safety experts, that children and young people were being put at risk of viewing and accessing inappropriate material when using public WiFi. Friendly WiFi has been created to ensure that businesses who offer their customers public WiFi and who wish to join the scheme to become a 'Friendly WiFi' venue, have had their WiFi services verified by an independent body to verify that the correct filters are in place to block anyone from accessing inappropriate material.

Beverley Smith, Director of friendly WiFi, had nothing but praise to say about the partnership. She stated:

“I am thrilled to be able announce our partnership with Bob's Business. They have a unique and innovative approach and solution to training which not only ensures staff are educated but that they retain the knowledge and change their behaviour. Working in partnership will raise the awareness of the Friendly WiFi Scheme and further support the journey to keep children and young people protected online using public WiFi. I am excited at working with such a passionate and dedicated team and sharing the services that Bob's Business offer with our clients and partners."

Bob's Business is a Barnsley based elearning provider, specialising in focussing on interactive ways to raise information security awareness within organisations. They utilise animations and humour to help keep businesses and staff informed of the dangers and what can be done to protect information, themselves, and the business. The partnership will enable Bob's Business to offer this service to a number of their public sector clients who are working hard to develop a secure culture, but also have a duty of care to individuals using their public wifi services.

Melanie Oldham, MD of Bob's Business, is equally as thrilled, as explained below:

“Myself and all the team are extremely pleased to have partnered with such a likeminded company whose values are aligned so closely to ours. Friendly WiFi offer a crucial service which is paramount to the online safety of many children and adults alike, and I am thrilled to offer my support to such a devoted and caring organisation."

Going Global

The partnership is hoped to further encourage international growth for both organisations. Friendly WiFi are already offering the service in the US and Australia, and Bob's Business already have a number of clients in New Zealand and Australia.

This can only be a step in the right direction for both organisations, to follow their joint vision to provide a safe online environment and commitment to reducing the effects of cyber crime, by spreading the joint message throughout organisations and the public nationwide.
