Supporting Project Arachnid by C3P SafeDNS Adds New Category to Its Filtering Service

Dear friends,

We have once again improved protection of SafeDNS users against child sexual abuse material on the internet. A new category, Child Sexual Abuse (Arachnid) has just been added to SafeDNS Service Dashboard. In this category we include a list of resources containing child sexual abuse images and videos publicly available on the internet. The list is compiled and updated regularly by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection/C3P as part of its Project Arachnid.

About C3P: Canadian Centre for Child Protection is a national charity dedicated to the personal safety of children.

The charity’s goal is to reduce the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, assist in the location of missing children, and prevent child victimization. Learn more at: protectchildren.ca

Why Adding This Category is Important

Adding the new category is completely in line with the SafeDNS strategy of fighting sexual abuse content. The company fully supports efforts by any organization worldwide to prevent online child sexual abuse and exploitation. We are honored to cooperate with the C3P and happy to contribute to making the internet safer and cleaner.

SafeDNS does everything in its power to help users, little and adult ones, avoid gross stuff online. The company finds it of utter importance to prevent distribution and sharing child sexual abuse material online and prevent re-victimization of survivors. To keep safe from such content, just tick the new category for blocking and save the changes in Dashboard.

The latest addition is the 2nd category containing resources with sexual abuse material. In March 2016 SafeDNS added a category with similar resources from Child Abuse Images and Content list (CAIC) compiled by Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), UK. Please, mind we have changed the name of this category to Child Sexual Abuse (IWF). The name change does not affect your filtering rules. If you have had the category blocked, it remains that way.

We keep improving the SafeDNS web filtering solutions, so stay tuned to more news from us!
