Protect your privacy with DNS-over-TLS on SafeDNS

We begin the year of 2019 with exceptionally good news! As SafeDNS cares about its users’ privacy, we try to improve in any way possible. With that in mind, the company proudly presents support for DNS-over-TLS (DoT). It is a security protocol for encrypting and wrapping Domain Name System (DNS) queries and answers via the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. It means the DNS query itself – its content or response – is encrypted. So no eavesdropper or DNS manipulator would know what is being requested.

The goal of the protocol is to increase user privacy and security by preventing eavesdropping and manipulation of DNS data via man-in-the-middle attacks.

If you are concerned about privacy of your DNS requests, use DNS-over-TLS. It is available on all SafeDNS service plans. Please, mind, DNS-over-TLS does not work with SafeDNS Agent, the SafeDNS VPN and NAT DNS options. SafeDNS VPN already uses encryption of DNS traffic. DNS-over-TLS Support in Agent and NAT DNS will be added later this year.

Less than a week ago, Google announced its support for DNS-over-TLS. So, SafeDNS is entirely in stride with the internet giant and several huge actors among public DNS resolvers and web content filtering providers.
