Online Porn and it’s effect on kids

Our partners at Cleanbrowsing, started their business based on their passion to protect kids online, after seeing just how easy it was for kids to access pornographic and harmful content. By studying this, it became very apparent to them that kids were always just 2-3 clicks away from landing on this inappropriate content. This could happen via an advert, reference or just by sheer accident. The worrying thing is, many weren’t searching for this type of content, but it presented itself.

This is supported by research from Shared Hope International which showed 42% of internet users aged 10–17-year-old, admitted to watching pornographic material online. To support the findings by partners Cleanbrowsing, 66% of this number had viewed this material by accident while they were online trying to access age-appropriate programs.

Webroot, cybersecurity specialist company also found that:-

28,258 users watching porn online
372 people are typing the word ‘adult’ into a search engine
£2,270 is being spent on porn online

Every day there are:-

37 porn videos created in the US alone
2.5 billion emails containing porn received or sent
68 million search queries relating to porn carried out
116,000 queries related to child porn received

Basically, pornographic material is watched and accessed online, and kids are at risk, that is without thinking what they can see if sat in a public place and adults are watching this type of content in their view.
